3. Director of Exploitation Celeste Prinz did some
extra research on President Grant and his Hardscrabble cabin for
our May meeting
at White Haven (Grant’s
home) and special event at Grant’s Farm (to tour
Hardscrabble). She provided some copies to some who were able to attend the
Hardscrabble tour, and would like to make it available to all members.
Click “here” to see
the results of her research. Also, be sure and check
the "Meeting Photos" section of the website of photographs for pictures of all Society meetings.
4. The Society was honored during it's April 30th Birthday Meeting by the City of St. Louis. The Board of Aldermen adopted a resolution which is up on the St. Louis City's Library's website. The link to the resolution is http://previous.slpl.org/cco/ords/data/resolutions/res110005.htm.
5. The "World's Fair Links" page has been updated to include a digitized copy of the 200 page "Official Gide to the Louisiana Purchase Exposition" published for visitors to the Exposition in 1904. Also added was a digitized copy of the Thursday June 16th "Official Daily Program" which shows the events of that day and is typical of the programs that were published for each day of the Fair. Several book reviews have been added.
